Default Bulbo. Jersey in flower - My first Bulbo

I bought this bulbo on the 20th November in bud, and the bud opened about a week later.

Not noticed a strong smell so far but time will tell. One of it's parents is a smelly one I've heard.

Since taking these pictures the two petals have curled backwards so their tips are crossing each other at the back. When this was taken they just pointed backwards, but have curled backwards even more since. The tip of the top sepal is also touching them as it curles backwards.

Very pretty!! I wonder if the blooms are supposed to curve back that way. Didn't know you had a Bulbo, when did get it?

From other pictures I've seen this seems normal. I'll try and get some pics showing how much they have now curved.

I said in my post... I got it at the show I went to on the 20th Nov. It was in bud when I bought it and opened about a week later.

Yet to see if I can care for this one, but the guy from the nursary said they tend to prefer drying out, rather than keeping too wet... that's perfect for me as I tend to under rather than over water.

LOL, sorry for not reading properly! That's what happens when I'm on OB late in the evening when I'm also very tired.

Bulbos are quickly becoming my favorite, I love the strange blooms, I just ordered four different ones that should be here next week. Yours has a neat flower. The back bends make it even more so. TFS

Thanks Carol.

I can detect a smell from it now, but only when I stick my nose right in it, so it's not a problem (so far). My hubby describes it as a 'sweaty' smell. I would say a somewhat 'meaty' smell.
