Once the actual flowers start enlarging, the length of the spike shouldn't change much. I would not stake it. Roth should hold the spikes up naturally, it looks to be doing that here. Other Bulbo species tend to hang down, but I don't think this one will.
Looks around a week or so away from open flowers!

Thank you for the reply and advice. I won’t stake it and prefer not to if unnecessary. Hopefully I’ll be posting flowering pics in about a week.

The flowers have started falling after only a little over a week. Do I cut the stalk at the base?

You can. Not going to bloom again. But no rush. (In nature there is nobody to "tidy up", eventually the old spike just dries up, the plant can "recycle" the tissue of the spike. ) Bulbophyllum flowers tend to be short-lived, alas.

Agreed, let it dry to the point when it snaps, then cut it off close to the bulb. New growth should begin within a month or two.
