Help with Oncidium 'Big Shot' Male
Default Help with Oncidium 'Big Shot'

Hey gang, I could use some help with my oncidium. A while ago it started losing leaves somewhat rapidly, but also stabilized and threw up a somewhat stunted pbulb.

I was out of my apartment for the last 10 days due to a family matter and when I came back in today, some of the older leaves had started to yellow. Please see the attached photo.

The plant is in a southern exposure next to my catts and psychopsis. Is there anything to worry about or Ian mundo plant simply suffering from a hypochondriac owner? Thanks!

If the whole plant is showing in the photo, the pot is WAY too big, and the plant is probably staying too wet. I would put a plant that size in about a 3" / 7.5cm diameter pot. There should just be room for 2 - 3 more growths on the outside of the plant.

Indeed that is the whole plant, and interesting! I would never have thought that is the issue. By putting it in a smaller pot, will the media dry up quicker and keep the plant from staying too wet?

Yes, as long as you don't water it more than you do now.
