I had good luck regrowing Catt roots in semi hydro.

From bark to moss as a last resort.
 

I repotted one of my new Phals from the moss it came packed in into a bark hydro pellet mix. My favourite mix is a spag moss, bark, charcoal and hydro mix but I didn't have any and thought with all the recommendations about bark that I'd give it a try.

No. Wrong decision! The leaves are now drooping, they have lines in them and I'm watering every other day! The roots are shrivelling when they were plump before. I've ordered my preferred mix again and will repot (again) as soon as I get it. Rather annoyed I didn't listen to my gut and hold off on repotting but it had mealy bugs which I figured were in the mix. That is the only good thing about this is they are one gone at least. Lol.
