Default Is this a root? Strange growth starting...

Hi,

I have a phal which is doing pretty good from what I can tell, it is a strong plant, the spike it has is really thick and strong, it is putting out a new branch on that spike albeit the branch is growing the wrong way but it will sort itself out I'm sure lol. Anyhow I repotted it in sphagnum, bark, charcoal, foam bits and hydro pellets mix several months ago after it finished blooming. It just started growing that other branch a few weeks ago, also is growing a new leaf and what I think is a new root. But there is also another "thing" starting and I can't tell what it is. It must be a root but it seems strange.. It is silvery like a root but it has two bumps to it. The other growth is just one solid green bump. It just seems strange so thought I'd post some pics to see what you all thought. Any ideas?

The pics seem grainy. See if I can get a better one.

I can't really tell quite where you mean.

In the last pic I posted you can see the old spike on the right, to the left of that in the pic there is a slit in the phal, it is there that I am referring to. I'm trying to get a better pic, will upload if I can with my camera instead of just the iPad.

I think you can see it here better...

This is the other growth which is a root I think. It's just odd that this one is green, and the other "double bump" growth is silver in color.

The second looks like a root.

The other looks like a root that's got caught in the leaf, so it's tip is not growing out free.

This happens quite often, and I wouldn't worry. It will either free it's self or it won't, if it doesn't then others will grow and it's no big thing.
