Default NEW TO ORCHIDS AND EAGER TO LEARN MORE

Hello everyone

My name is Carlos and I am new to this forum and orchid growing in general. I currently live in south florida USA which I understand is a great place to grow orchids. Problem is I am new to orchid growing and currently I own a few plants that live on my balcony. Below are pictures of the orchids and their home. I am having trouble with some of them and i am having problems trying to find out their species. Orchids are very special plants to me bc they remind me of great figures in my life. I hope you all can help me grow these plants to be strong and healthy and make my family proud.

here are the orchids

KUWALE GEM "LING LING"

Samba Splendor

species unknown (purchased at home depot)

Vanda aka "Valorie" NOW BLOOMING!!!!

Species unknown aka "LIMA" purchased from Peruflora

Yellow Bird

Species unknown (got this one in Puerto rico NEEDS HELP!!!)

dendrobium aggregatum aka "tweety"

species unknown (purchased at home depot)

EPIDENDRUM IBAGUENSE (I think) this is by far the plant that has the most emotional attachment bc its been with me or 2 years. its bloomed twice and now it isn't looking too healthy PLEASE HELP!!!

this is where they live in my balcony. CASA D ORCHIDS

i hope you all can help me with these beautiful plants.
any and all information will greatly be helpful.

thanks

When did you last repot your ?Epidendrum ibaguense? ? the medium looks quite broken down, or perhaps it's just very wet?

Thanks Discus

I repotted my Epidendrum ibaguense last august i believe. I think i might have used the wrong potting medium. I hear that regular potting mix is best but at the moment it is a mix of orchid bark and potting mix. do u think i should repot?

I have done best with Epidendrums potted in either a fine fir bark mix, or coconut husk chips mix.
