New purchases , orchid medium + orchid food

Hello everyone hoping all of you are doing great!! Today I went to lowe's to get my orchid medium because the one I had from miracle gro wasn't too good I wasn't very convinced and happy about it too dirty and and not good looking for me I was told that better gro it's "better" so I did ... And I also get 3 new babies for my collection I get a Dendrobium and two minis not quiet sure what kind they are so have to learn a little bit more about Dendrobium since I have phalaenopsis and cattleyas only + new food for them let see how it goes here it's some pictures

Looks like lovely additions to your collection! I personally love the better-gro special orchid bark, everything that I have put into it has thrived!

If you have not found the search icon on the Forum Menu above, I urge you to do so. Many different answers to many different questions, all on one very informative forum, which is more interested in sharing knowledge then the bulk-store purveyors of orchid products who will tell you what they need to to sell you their products and have probably never grown an orchid in their lives.

Thank you Bill my collection start growing hehe ! As if now I have 5 cattleyas 7 phalaenopsis + 1 Dendrobium and the 2 minis I get which I don't know what kind they are and about the medium I had to change it ASAP because miracle gro burned the roots of some of my orchids so hopefully they all will do great with the new medium and food

Haha the collection is always growing have you noticed any significant difference with the bloom-booster formula? I have read a fair number of websites and papers that tout them as pure marketing gimmicks that don't really do much other than dropping the concentration of Nitrogen, which can help induce blooming.

But as I have never tried it personally, I can't really weigh in. What is your opinion on it? (*and all of this is not meant to attack you or your growing methods-just wondering and stirring up good conversation )

Hey Bill I can't tell you if there is any difference in the bloom booster quite yet I just purchase it today but I am gonna start using it and definitely will let you know ... I am not an expert on orchids growing there is always something new to learn about them but all of my orchids I think are happy with them care I been giving them with the right amount of light not overwatering and fertilizing once a month I will keep you updated

Hiii slipper girl how are you ?? I deff getting addicted I am going crazy my husband it's even getting jealous he said I give my orchids more care than him which it's not true but If I keep going I would probably have go hide them haha!!
