Default Color break in catt flowers with virus

There was a thread (which I couldn't find) last season about color break in flowers caused by virus and I thought I'd show what it looked like for those who have never seen it before. When you buy an orchid, the colors of the flowers should be clear with no color "break" in the petals/sepals. If there is this (see pics) don't buy it. This does not mean splash color catts which are different. This is a C. Gaskelliana which I bought a few years back at an orchid show donation table. I knew it had virus but I like the big pink flowersof Gaskelliana so I bought it. Since my collection has many virused plants I didn't worry about the virus. So here is what a virused flower exhibiting color break looks like. Also with virused plants the leaves sometimes exhibit color break which is what this plant does. Here are color break in the leaves too. (Not to be confused with some orchids that naturally have different colors in their leaves).

I wasn't aware that color break can appear in the leaves as well as the flower. Good to know. Thank you for the insight!
