Bud blast :( what to do? Male
Unhappy Bud blast :( what to do?

I just repotted my phal that I recently bought. It was in sphag 6" pot. I took it down to 5" cuz it needed some roots taken off due to rot. It is now in bark. Just literally got finished and I am pretty proud of myself with my first repotting!!! But I noticed before repotting that there are a few of the buds blasting. Probably 3-4 out of 15-20 buds in all. There is only two flowers open right now. Do you guys think that all of them will drop? Thanks for helping me through all my orchid problems. Like i have stated b4, I'm kindof paranoid when it comes to my orchids! I just have two and are new to them.

Its really tough to say, as it depends on the conditions that changed when you bought it, and lots of other factors. In my experience bud blast is basically about a 50/50 chance when you bring a new one home. The best you can do is keep it warm and limit any drafts, but that's just what works best for me in my setup.
Also, repotting can stir up some bud blast, but if the plant is better off afterwards, a few lost buds are fine with me.
Good luck, but it sounds pretty normal

I agree, this sounds pretty normal and there isn't really anything to worry about.
