Default New Leaves

So I don't know who remembers but I asked a while ago how to cut down my phal thats topped blooming. So following your advice I cut the spike. I now have a new leaf that's been growing since I cut it. No new spike or anything yet. Just the leaf!

Also, one of my phals is growing a new leaf and it's still in bloom, which I find weird lol.

The purple one I had to cut and cut the roots on hasn't shown any new growth yet.

I will try and find my cam and post pics later

Most phals only bloom once a year. After the blooms are gone the plant concentrates on growing roots and leaves.
They will grow roots, leaves and bloom at the same time however, if your new leaf stalls don't worry about it. When the blooming is over it will start growing again.
Have patience, your plant will start growing if your culture is good.

I know. I wasn't debating anything. I just have only seen new leaf growth i wasn't sure if i'd get a new spike yet or only during the bloom cycle.

Although the purple one hasn't shown any new growth at all so i'm a bit worried

That nub may be either a new root, new spike or a baby phal. Only time will tell, and generally they all look the same until it's had time to grow out a bit more.

I know a phal I gave to my mom 2 years ago had bloom spikes and baby blooms preparing to open when her cat tore off the spikes. About 2 weeks ago she noticed a new spike forming, so there may still be some hope.

As a side note, most phal's produce new growths and spikes just shortly before and during spring, however some species produce later than that. It really depends what species yours are, or if it's a hybrid what it was mixed with. However, most of the phal's you buy at grocery stores and home stores are going to be spring bloomers.

Looks like you're doing a great job as the leaves have some great color! Keep up the good work, be patient and you will be rewarded, if not this year then perhaps next year.

Looking at the nub in person a lil bit more it almost looks like it could possibly be a spike. It looks like it's "coming" out of a sheath also looks like where that "sheath" is is a small node forming?? it may just be me but i know its hard to tell in the pic,i'm hoping this is a spike!!
