Question how much light for how long?

I have Phals., Paphs., a Brs. and a brsdm. I have an idea about the light intensity that they need (in fc), although I'd be interested in any additional resources with this info. What I need to know is how many hours per day do the need this intensity to grow and flower. I'm using sunlight, no artificial sources. Thanks, Lisa

Lisa, as for your Brs.. A shadow should be detected when placing hand 10”-12” above plant. This is the quality of light required for at least 6 hours a day.

As for the paph...Provide bright light, no direct sun. An east, west or shaded south window will work. Dark green, limp foliage indicates too little light. Suggestively, approx 6 hours of this intensity.

As for the phal...An east window is ideal, shaded south or west windows are acceptable. In dull, northern winter climate, a full south exposure may be needed.

As for my indoor growing culture ... the above is pretty much a given to 6 hrs of this intensity but I have my drapes open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. w/evening time change. My growing area consists of a bay window east/northeast/west. No artificial lighting.

Hope this helps
