Default A SUPERthrive testimonial, maybe!

about 3 weeks ago I started useing SUPERthrive with my regular plant feedings, I have noticed something odd to me and not sure if the SUPERthrive had anything to do with it, but on everyone of my orchids with spikes all began to get new growth somewhere along the spikes, here are a few.

I swear but this stuff when repotting, but I've read some comments here that it can cause problems with blooms when used regularly. Keep us posted on how all those buds turn out. They look great right now.

Grats! How exciting!

I've been thinking of holding off on the ST when a spike starts growing- not sure yet if that's too late to deter funky flowers. I definitely kick it up when they go out of flower.

I'm not sure about Superthrive, but I think that KLN may have inhibited spike production in my Phals this year. I can't be certain though as it is one of two things I was doing differently from the previous year and one of two things I changed back before I started getting spikes again.

I've heard something about both KLN and Superthrive in this respect I think but I've never tried Superthrive.

Hm. I've not heard of Superthrive having a deleterious affect on blooms before. Can anyone point me toward a more detailed discussion on this?

When I last had a big collection, I used Superthrive every couple weeks, along with fertilizer. I only just purchased it again about 3 weeks ago, and have been using it weakly, weekly on all my new tolumnia while they get settled in (I also repotted / mounted a number of them). Now I'm wondering if I should back off once there are spikes.

Thanks!

Actually, neither of them should have any effect on enhancing growth, other than roots - and certainly not in only 3 weeks.

Likewise, they will not have any deleterious effect on blooming unless you overuse them. The "1 or 2 drops per gallon" is not an idle recommendation.

Annoying, since my bottle didn't come with a dropper.
I just try to pour as little as possible into the cap (I'd say the equivalent of a drop...) and use that. If that makes sense.

Roots is all I'm really looking for, since there was re-potting involved.

Do you have a friend who wears contact lenses? The necessity item for him/her is the saline solution. You can get an empty bottle from him/her. Unless you squeeze the bottle, it only drops the liquid. I put mine in it. Works great!
