Default Suggestions for easy, compact catts?

Hello All,
I was wondering if anybody could suggest a few easy,
compact growing brasolaelocattleyas or sophrolaeliocattleyas (or other catt hybrids) that are easy growers and compact in growth habit. I am looking to expand my collection for my light garden. I particularly like reds, oranges and "art shades." Also any that I can order online. I know this is all pretty specific, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dan in Austin

I've got a super easy one for you. Potinara Hoku Gem 'Freckles'. I've had it since June, and it has bloomed 3 times since I got it. It starts out a kind of brick red color when it first opens and gradually gets ligher in color until it's a bright yellow. It's very cool, and one of my favorite Catts. It's not picky in the least, just make sure it gets plenty of light. I generally carries 4-5 buds per inflorescence depending on the size of the P-Bulb. It sends up new growths from multiple points. I really can't think of a down side to this one.

Terri,
That one is very cool! Thanks! I will see if I can find it for sale online somewhere. Did you get yours online or at a retail store?
Thanks again,
Dam

I ordered it from H&R Orchids in Hawaii. Their website is kind of low tech. Click on the link that says Downloads. then click on the link that says Pricelist. It's item number is HR3351, FS $12. Then you have to either download the order form, and fax it to them or mail it. I'm sure you could also email or call to place the order. There are lots of pop-up ads, just a warning. Their plants are top notch. I'm sure you'll find lots of other things to buy also. They have a color catalog that you download page by page to see what the flowers look like. It's worth the hassle.

How about this one -

Sc. Beaufort grown on a tree fern mount 5x8"

This is a really old grex and should be available online, somewhere. It also comes in a yellow/orange color.

Suggestions for easy, compact catts?
Exclamation cattleya repotting and roots

Hey everyone!
I am new to Catts and repotting one for the first time. I just flowered a while ago and the new, green-tipped roots are just coming out. The pseudobulbs are growing over the edge and the older white roots are all over the place outside of the pot. Can I cut them when I repot, or should I try to keep them? Also need to divide the pseudobulbs--about 12 in all! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as there are no orchid fanatics like me that I know of where I live! Thanks!

Any of the Potinara Little Toshie cultivars are also really good. I've got 'Yellow Rose,' bright golden yellow 3-4" blooms with a red lip. 'Mini Flares' is the same combo with red flares on the petals. Mine is currently putting out four new leads, and each lead typically produces 2-3 blooms; you can expect flowers twice a year. Plus it's compact and does great under lights. Hope this helps!
