Default Buying Orchids in EU

Hi everyone!

I like to call myself a hobby orchid grower and recently I moved from the US to Portugal and sadly, had to leave all my orchids behind due to customs regulations.

I don't know if this is the best place to post this question but I sure would love help. I would like to purchase more orchids, hopefully from a website located in the EU so that I don't have to worry about my packages being confiscated, like the common listings you see on ebay that come from Thailand.

I found a website here that looks promising but the shipping is still pretty high and I don't know anyone with experience with this site. Does anyone know of a good site I could purchase from?

Thanks!

I've not used them, but I've heard they are OK. You might find more useful in the Vendor Feedback Forum

Shipping from popow-orchids is one of the cheaper ones. I've not actually used them but I know someone else who's said they are good.

Popow sell on ebay under a different name, but I can't remember what it is. I understand their plants can be cheaper on ebay.

Orchideeen-shop is Claessen orchideen, I've just finished dispatching parcels from a group buy in France. Plants are usually fine. Yes the postage is hard hitting, like most of the german vendors too.

I may had to those named:
France…
La Cour des Orchidées
L'orchidium
La Canopée
Buscal orchidées (also on ebay)
Phytorchid (propagation material) and Phytorchid Nursery
Belgium…
Jacky orchiflora
Germany…
Roellke
Asendorfer orchidenzucht

Thank you everyone for so many suggestions. I don't think I would have found half of these in a google search. After looking at all of them I only found three who have the two orchids I wish to purchase on the same site; Vanilla planifolia and brassavola nodosa. Those sites wereorchideen-wichmann.de, shop.schwerter-orchideenzucht.de, and orchideeen-shop.nl.

I found that after adding the plants and the soil for them the cost with shipping included will be nearly equal between the three. It looks like there will be no cheap way out and will have to think my purchase through some more.
