Repotting grocery store phalenopsis.
Default

I am in northeast Mississippi so we typically have hot, humid summers into the 90s and a little bit of freezing in the winter. I bring them in when it gets under 55°. In bright sun with the heat you have to water pretty often or plants dry out. But spring is pretty wet and we get some pretty heavy storms at times and drought at others. It's pretty variable. I'm thinking a couple of the phals need repotting. One is really tight and the spaghnum gets quite water logged, but the roots look really healthy. The other is trying fall out of its pot and looks dehydrated. It is in bark and has a bunch of roots that aren't buried. The other two were repotted in spaghnum last year. Those two seems to be doing well except a couple of roots on one of them have gone brown. It has been really windy and the plastic pots have been being blown over. I like that I can see the roots through the plastic though, but the clay pots stay upright. Any ideas for keeping them upright? I seem to have the choice of planting them in water retentive media and then getting too wet when it's rainy, or potting them in something drier and having to water every other day or so when it's hot and dry.
