Default Rootless Onc. flexuosum help

Hello Orchid Board!
I purchased an Oncidium Flexuosum from "houseplant.co.uk", and there was a whole disaster with their courier, and in the end when it got to me the roots were entirely rotted. I got a refund thankfully. I cut every mushy root off and left only one tiny green root internal (string? you know what i mean) not sure if that does much. It had flowers but no roots 😐 I cut off the flower stem figuring this would save energy. I heard they go dormant after flowering.

I initially had it in water I was changing constantly, and a plastic bag loosely over it, but I saw someone mentioning just keeping it in a humid sealed bag. Decided to do so. Low and behold 3 days later the micro bulb has a dead leaf, and another of the bulbs has a brown spot 😭 And even worst the tiniest bulb snapped off!
I cleaned it up with a knife and scraped off every bit of mush I could, but I dont know what to do next.

Is this guy already beyond saving? What to do 😭

I would pot it up in your normal mix, keep humid and water occasionally. If the plant is to survive it will make new growth, with new roots. Until then it will be a matter of whether the plant contains enough water to survive.

I didn't see the roots as it came, but I never cut off roots. Without a microscope it's not possible to be certain roots are alive or dead. There is a chance of mistakenly cutting off the last viable roots. This plant would have a much greater chance of surviving with just a few roots.
