Hi everyone! I was checking the roots of my orchid when I noticed two dark patches on two of the roots. I am worried if it’s root rot and what I should do. Advice is appreciated.

“Dark patches” can be interpreted several ways. A photo would help.

Welcome to the Orchid Board! As Ray says, it's impossible to say what's wrong, if anything, just from your post. What type of orchid is it? Where do you grow, i.e., indoors, outdoors? What is your care regimen?

More information will be helpful to those here who would like to help you. A couple of photos, too. I'm not sure, but there may be a rule here that you cannot post a photo until you have made five posts, but that shouldn't be hard to do. You could easily do that by replying here with the information I mentioned, but just spread it out over a few posts.

Hi Kachow
Welcome to OB.
It looks like a Phalaenopsis orchid.
Unfortunately all your previous replies grouped themselves into 1 post so you still need to do a few more posts until you can upload a picture directly on here.
We definitely need more info to be able to help you, as well as a pic of the area causing you concern.

Common Qs are:
What is the Phal potted in? ie What medium? Bark or moss or...
How do you water it and how often? How do you judge when you need to water?
What are the temperatures like, day and night, in the grow area?
Has it been repotted since you acquired it?

Have you had a look at the Thread titled 'The Phal abuse ends here'?

The Phal abuse ends here.
