Psychopsis help

Hello there,

I wanted to ask a few questions about that orchid which I bought today.

So I got the Psychopsis today and I had to pot it in a tiny pot since it didn't have many good roots.

I wanted to know if I did right and potted it correctly, since its bulbs are covered with some bark mix.

And I wanted to ask if it will bloom once again from its flower stem... I was wondering because the stem is so dry around the tip.

It's potted too deep. Remove top of medium until the bulbs are exposed, or gently pull upward until bulbs are above the medium. Don't cut the spike. It will bloom again, or possibly branch out from a lower node.

And then don't mess with it. They aren't fond of having their roots disturbed.

Ya the bulbs should sit just on top of the bark or they could rot. The spike also looks fine, it's just the old sheaths that have dried out.

One of the bulbs has some roots that will stay outside... Is it alright?(Since the orchid doesn't have so many roots...) If I'll have to raise it up they won't be covered.

Just new roots getting started? Wouldn't they touch the top of medium and be just a bit below surface?

Not so so new, but some whitish good looking roots...
I bet that they will be just above the surface of the medium

Yes, around inch

So the roots go into the medium, the pbulb rests at top of medium. I'd show you a picture, but I don't grow in a bark medium, so it would just confuse the issue.

You can put a couple pieces of bark against the roots so they are covered if you want. That might help since this plant looks pretty dehydrated. If it was a healthy orchid I would say just leave them as they are because orchid roots are adapted to being out in the air, but in this case I think you should cover them With some bark or moss
