It might be a little off-putting at first, and it looks very complicated; but it's an incredibly powerful tool when used right.
There are plenty of guides and templates available, and a solid community to help.
I can see its utility, but it would take me many, many hours to figure out how to use it. I'd probably use it if I'd already learned it for something else.

I mentioned recently the importance of quarantining plants.

So I came across a dutch grower today who posted a youtube video of his latest order.

Note the video is split into two so if you want to see all the orchids he ordered you have to check out part 2 also.

When I was watching this I was just thinking, how are you going to tell them all apart????

How long will it take to pot them all?

Is it ok to pile them all on top of each other, all roots touching?

Quite an impressive haul but how on earth???

I know orchid nurseries must go through the same problems and are probably hiring people just to repot every day but he's basically bought as many orchidss as I own and they all arrived bareroot needing to be potted up - in one day...

Just thought it was worth sharing. I would be interested to know how dino got on with his purchase, he seemed to know what he was talking about but what he did I would be too scared to do.

There is biting off more than one can handle and then there is just stuffing the whole loaf down without bothering to chew at all.

Fascinating to see what others get up to though

I'm curious. I understand your concern over possible cross contamination, but why do they all need to be potted up in one day? These epiphytes should be able to survive just fine for days as long as they get some water and moving air. I only wish I had a place for, and the money to buy, so many nice plants at one time. It would keep my busy for days!
