Cattleyas leaves broke off at the neck of pseudobulb
Default Cattleyas leaves broke off at the neck of pseudobulb

Hi,
Does anyone know why the leaves of my Cattleya keep on keeling over?
Is it because the plant got too much nitrogen?
Should I cut the leaves off ?

I fertilize all of my orchids with Repotme Feed Me MSU fertilizer once a week very weakly, even in the summer months. (This plant was infested by scales, but I had it under control by treating it with Acephate systematic insecticide).

My plants culture regimen for all of my orchids is as follows:
Winter months(End of Oct - May)
Light: Spider Farm grow light(10 hours from Nov and gradually 14hrs to Feb)
Water: weekly
Fertilizer: weakly weekly

Spring - now:
Outside:
Water: daily if the temperature is in the 90’s
Fertilizer: weakly weekly

Thank you in advance for your help,

You should not wait for the temp to be on the 90'S to water daily. The plant is in a basket and has a good root mass so I would water it more.
Another possibility is that the leaves you are mentioning are the oldest leaves (it seems from the photo) so maybe they are giving their soul to the creator.

looks like plant is getting sun from one side only and bulbs will orient themselves to get that sunlight. Plant looks great from your picture. If you want upright bulbs you need to relocate plant to where it gets at least a partial sweep of sunlight from morning through afternoon.
