Exclamation Edges of orchid leaves turning light green

The edges of my orchids’s leaves and sections of the leaves on its two keikis are turning light green. I don’t know what’s causing it because a sunburn would start turning the entire leaf yellow and brown.

This particular orchid lost a lot of its roots after I repotted it and has been struggling since. All of my orchids (phalaenopsis) are in the same spot but the color change around the edges is the most noticeable on the pictured orchid (first two pictures).

I don’t know what’s causing it or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

I don't know what that is. I recall other people posting here with this in the past. I don't think there was an answer. If the plant is otherwise doing OK I wouldn't worry about it.

I would also like to know what causes it. Sometimes I think it could be sun damage, other times a sign of stress but I've seen it on a perfectly healthy good flowering phal too.
The only logical one left would be too cold nights which mine certainly get so could be that.
One thing I noticed is that the third picture looks like one I just discovered was getting way too little light in the spot it was in at mine. The new leaf has grown very narrow so if that is the case with yours and it has a lighter leaf edge that would rule out too much sun for that one.

It happens to my miniphals, I assumed it had to do with a high amount of sun, but not enough to burn them.

The new leaf seems to have a reddish tint (if I am looking at it correctly) which could be consistent with anthocyanins that a red/purple phal produces to protect itself from the sun. It's an adaptation to prevent the plant from burning, but you can see it as a hint to move it out of the sun. (I think of it as an orchid getting a tan, haha xD)

As far as I know, once it's become like that, it's pretty much changed permanently. However, the reddish tint does fade after a while once the orchid is no longer in so much light. (But it never completely goes away.)

My orchids grow well otherwise, so it was not something I thought to worry about!
