That's the advantage of hanging... if the roots go wild they can just expand where they want to go. Clearly they would rather not be in pots, and look for any opportunity to escape into the big wide world.

Clowesetum Black Jade, aka, Rooty McRoots. All of these are from this seasons growths. As of June, it was already one solid block of roots and it’s only gotten worse/better and now I’m just waiting on the pot to split lol. This thing is ridiculous and can drink up an unbelievable amount of water every night. Gonna be super annoyed if it doesn’t bloom this year…

The roots count in the plant's size. And it does not look spindly from low lighting, like a lot of the plants on eBay and etsy,

It's not like the trees growing in the rain forests have pots sitting on their branches.

Where do those roots think they're going? That's too many roots growing in the same direction to be an accident.

It's growing towards the door. I have it open to allow breeze through the house and to aerate my plants.

I hang baskets under a tree and often the roots grow straight towards the tree. Not sure what they are sensing - whether it is the tree itself or just that it is the stable point the tree is providing.

Speaking of hanging baskets and roots

Here is a Chrisnetia Green Light and Prosthecea (Encyclia) chacaoensis roots that are a little bit out of control... It seems to like dry sunny California air.......
