But the more I observe it and have thought about it the more I have concluded this Catt is working out, like Arnie it has developed a biceps bulge because of how it is growing. I don't stake my pseudobulbs so you can imagine there will be a huge strain on the connection at the base hence my conclusion this pseudobulb is working out, getting ready to support the huge flowering I am expecting next year
Pseudobulb size is definitely a good indicator of plant health!!

Hmmm. I suspect that a pseudobulb porn thread would do as well as this one.

beautiful roots on your dowiana jeff.

Haven't seen such a good root explosion on one like yours before! A rare sight but beautiful. And it still looks relatively young I'd guess.

Thanks! Once I started to grow it in hydroton, the roots seemed to take off. In general, it is a vigorous grower - just unforgiving if you make a mistake!

I think it still has two or three more p-bulbs to reach blooming size... maybe 2023. I'll enjoy its roots in the meantime

I dunno, I'll wager that one blooms in summer 2022.

I was in the tent giving my 'Miss Joaquim' a drink, when I looked at the 'Gold Digger'. At first I missed it, but something green caught my eye.
