Default Zygopetalum Mathina Meadows died

Hello Advanced Orchid Growers:
Full disclosure- I am not an advanced grower nor a novice. I am posting this question here because I am in need of expert help.
I purchased a Zygopetalum Mathina Meadows this spring. It bloomed and looked like an all round healthy plant. Then it slowly died.
All I am left with are a few pseudobulbs (dead) and 1 small new growth. When I looked at the roots they were all rotten and mushy. There's 1 healthy root.
Heres my question: Whats the best way to save this plant? I didn't remove the old pseudobulbs even though those roots are rotten because I am thinking they have stored food. I can't cut off any more of those roots.
I put it in spaghman moss which I am keeping moist.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The only thing to add would be to keep it as cool as possible. From what you describe it's not likely to live. These don't like heat at all.
