Alas... but your success rate on little mounted plants has definitely gone up more recently. Maybe time to try again?

Ha! How kind of you to say that. I have acquired a couple of little mounted plants recently. (Thank you!) But I'm just following on the coattails of someone who grows them well. If the Neo and the Leptotes survive a year, I'll consider it. Not at all convinced I've turned a corner.
PS Tolumnia don't count.

Decided to revive this thread from Project 2020, rather than start a new one... for context. Now, three years on, an update. The little one that I bought when we started the project is growing nicely, flowers didn't last long enough to get photographed though. Here is one that I had for awhile at that time which had been potted and not doing very well. I mounted it, put it in the greenhouse, and clearly that was what it wanted. Humidity and rapid drying of roots. It's turning into a root machine!

I can't get a great shot of mine, but its doing very well. The OG fan is almost the size of my hand. There is a second quite large fan that has grown since acquisition. It flowered in early July.
