Here's my new Podangis dactyloceras. There were 3 spikes. The first is mostly spent, but the other two are putting on a show. It was in a net pot with a small amount of bark, I went ahead and mounted it, where I think it will be happy for the long run. This one will stay outside (unless it gets really cold next winter and I lose my nerve)

Nice! I'm personally over here just trying not to kill mine. I know I'm being a helicopter mom, but these things are just soooo tiny. Not used to it. I haven't fretted over a plant like this for at least a couple of decades.

Reading this I might just flip my mounted one upside down. With all the rain we’ve been having lately, water getting caught has been one of my concerns. I did get it mounted though (no moss) but the roots are a little junky, I’m hoping it puts out some new ones soon. The rest of the plant is looking ok and I’m not seeing any major signs of dehydration

WW, I'm a helicopter mom too. Was convinced mine was near death, but it seems to have taken a turn for the better since I stopped picking at it.

Yeah, not sure if you saw my post or not. I asked Jonathan why they were mounted upside down and he said they'd had a few deaths due to crown rot, which is why they hang upside down now.

Okay DC and MJG.... I'm not "touching" it! I just keep staring at it intensely. It's on the desk where my PC is and I keep a VERY close eye on it.

I'm afraid of overwatering it, and now I see a brown root tip! I'm dyin' here!!

Just for the record, the moss just holds water for a little more time. I water in the morning, by afternoon the moss is crunchy. So, just a relatively thin layer. In a very high humidity environment the results would be different. For me, days feel muggy... at 50% humidity. Most of the rest of you will say to me, "Wimp!"

It's 60% inside my house right now. Yes, AC running. It will drop to about 50 when we stop going in and out of the house.

I'm misting every other day, because it says like to be dried out. My two little root tips are brown on the ends. Can I really mist this thing daily?

Yup. I am guessing that it dries out within an hour or two no matter what you do to it (mounted, right?) You really can't overwater a mounted plant.
