This is horrible. I always thought posting pics was good for everyone.

I will have to play around in Flickr to change my settings or figure out how to thumbnail without waiting for the forum to upload images

Don't feel bad DC! Stuff like this is impossible to know without other people bringing it up, and I'm guessing it's either due to the number of photos embedded per post, or you are embedding a rather large size, or both. And you're probably not the only one.

Differences in internet speed has always been and will always be an issue on forums, and it's difficult to find ways of posting photos that will work for everyone...

ES, see if this works ok. Instead of a direct link to the photos I've used the miniature link.

This works on my Android phone and on my desktop.

Remember Orchid Board runs on very old software, and it is unlikely to get upgraded. It's my favorite orchid forum so I'm willing to put up with the glitches.

I will apologize, since my post above was one of the ones that made note of how your pictures are very, very large. I did not mean to make you feel bad, and, hopefully, you will figure out the solution, so I can continue to read your posts AND see your photos!

The photos came through fine for me, too. Smallish size in the post (thumbnail?), but I can click on it and it opens in a new window in a larger, more comfortable size, but still smaller than my screen size. Again, I'm using a desktop computer, Windows 10.

If you click again on the photo after it opens in a new window, they probably get much larger than your screen.

I believe most of the photo storing/sharing sites have this thumbnail function available.

You can see how people use the photo sharing sites by hitting Reply to their messages. Examine HTML code. Some people use Flickr and their photos scale to the screen, no matter the device. Others use Flickr and the photos are huge.

rbarata -
when I click on the images, my antivirus (Kaspersky) objects... apparently the site has adware, (or a link to another site) that wants to load adware or other stuff on my computer... which Kaspersky will block but not quietly. Imagur is another service that people have used that does the same thing. Flickr seems to be clean.

Thanks for the info, Roberta...however I have never noticed anything unwanted (which includes adware).
I ran periodically (full scan) 3 different adware cleaners and never got any warning (and all three are always working in the background.

Anyway, on everyvisit there's a cookie transfer via webrowser. Not allowing it, only have effect on someone who has an account.

It appears to be a function of setting. What is the appropriate size? In pixels?

I think I can set them to any ratio I want. (According to the advertising lol!!!)
