So sad...
By Erin Raven Skye at 2007-06-25 17:25

I feel like my orchid should be in the ICU, I have no idea if it's going to make it. To add insult to injury, for the first time ever I decided to google the orchid, and found someone else's...I think they all came from the same parent plant or whatever, I'm not sure how that works, but his is blooming so nice and he's got a picture posted. So I can see what mine WOULD have looked like if I knew anything about orchids and kept it under ideal conditions. My roommate keeps reminding me that it was nearly dead when I bought it, and that it's a learning experience, but it's sooo pretty, I don't want it to die I wish there was an orchid hospital I could take it to, put it in a nice humid sunny greenhouse or something.

No sadness! It's not allowed here

Hopefully, with less lighting, your orchid will recover and move forward. If it doesn't, chalk it up to experience...you'll know better next time. We've all killed a few...I've heard that you can't be considered a real grower until you've killed a hundred!

A few years from now, when you have a few more blooming and healthy, you won't even remember this bad experience. And remember...this one's not a goner. It could be one of the blooming healthy 'chids I just mentioned!
