Orchids: To Buy or Not to Buy on Ebay
By mraja at 2011-12-12 18:39
Quite a few of us are wary of purchasing orchids on Ebay, as one is never really sure what will turn up in the mail. I think for those who have the time and resources to purchase their plants at different venues and through established commercial sellers, Ebay is not really the place. But as someone interested in building a Cattleya collection on a limited budget, I have found Ebay a great resource in building my collection. Most of the seventeen Cattleya species that I now have were bought from from very trustworthy Ebay sellers.

I think if one is careful in reading a seller’s customer ratings and if one takes a deeper look at what the seller has been selling on Ebay, it should not be hard to find reliable Ebay orchid sellers.

In my quest for classic Cattleya species, I have dealt with the following sellers and found them to be extremely reliable, professional, and honest. I am deeply grateful to all these sellers for making it possible for someone such as me to build a collection of orchids:

* budsandexotics
* jewellorchids
* mikesorchids
* oorchid

So, if you decide to buy on Ebay, just do your research and do look at the sellers’ ratings: they matter. As for me, I will continue building my collection through these and other reliable Ebay sellers.

(Note: The C. percivaliana pictured in my photo gallery was also bought on Ebay)
