Review:

his is one of the most important to read books pertaining to orchids, regardless of level of orchidaceous knowledge retained already. The author, Robert Louis Dressler, holds many important orchid contributions, including extensive studies in Panama concerning orchid pollination, and his combined efforts with Calaway H. Dodson on today's accepted orchid phylogeny.

This book starts off explaining what orchids are, then works its way up to every field of science affiliated with orchids. It is an invaluable piece of literature which is also used as a reference book after it has been read. The information is valuable to understanding relationships with orchids, taxonomy, cultivation, and reproduction. There is not much else for me to say about this book except that everyone should have it, it is very useful and explains itself to you.

I also have this book which is wonderful if you want to learn some more of the basic scientific information about the different orchid families. Anatomy, evolution and a list of the major genera...its all there.
