The Orchid Print Chronicle
By Stone Crab Graphics at 2010-01-06 23:00
Ok, folks so here it is. "The Orchid Print Chronicle " has been started to share one persons trials and tribulations in selling Digital Photo's of Orchids, on line...

Prologue:
I've been taking still pictures since the manual load/advance 35mm film days.
It's always been a hobby, I've picked up from my father. After a time of developing my own style and understanding of the F-Stop, I began to get compliments. Moving to Miami in 1990, shortly after separating from the U.S.A.F., my eyes where constantly drawn to the skies. With their incredible cloud formations, I found a new subject. One that caused me to think outside my box...
In 2005, I fell into the world of Orchids. At first I took pictures primarily to document the plants in my collection, after loosing a few. After viewing some professionals photo's, I knew I could at least photograph as well as those I saw.

The Beginning:
My photographic equipment at the time of this entry, is very limited. Consisting of a "Hand Me Down" Nikon D70, fitted with an 18 - 55mm and a 55 - 200mm. A set of Bogen sticks. No light sources outside of the sun. I have implemented a piece of Duvateen, 5' x 6' and a portable clothes rack to hang it on for a back drop. I will also use diffusion material of different types. I also primarily use Adobe Lightroom, but have Photoshop for artistic endeavors.
I've been building my portfolio, so now time to start selling. I'm not a good "Door to Door" salesman, so I'm going to have to do it on the web... I have already posted some of my prints on some stock photo websites, but after talking with other members, sales are slow. That's not good, I need to sell faster.
Ok so now I'm in the process of investigation the possibilities of Ebay..
