Mine do well but I have extra light for the catts and vanda types. Plus the sliders are big so you do get some good light, more than a windowsill. North windows have the least amount of light.

I use the same type of shelves (with the rollers, too, so I can easily slide the shelves for vacuuming). I have two shelves currently but will probably buy a third set for the 'little trees'. They are just perfect for hanging lights!

Costco also sells the wire shelves. They are much less expensive at the store (pickup) compared to online (+ shipping.)
