Stunning. Apple blossom is one of my favorites. I think your room looks way to clean. My 3 dogs need to come in with muddy feet.

Your mounted phal is very unusual. I have never seen one with the white in a circle in the middle like that. How do you water it? You must have to spray it but then how many times a day would that be?

Thank you! Our local Lowe's has this variety all the time. When I got it as a floppy, withered rescue, the flowers weren't very pretty, but this time around they are much better, plus it's my first mount so I really love it!

To answer your question, I just soak the roots and mount with a spray bottle, usually once daily but sometimes I miss a day. I was out of town for a week in the fall and was worried it might get dehydrated, but it was fine. The plant was mounted over a ball of sphagnum that retains some moisture.

In the photo you can see that it hangs over a snake plant (also known as mother-in-law's tongue), so any excess water drips neatly onto the potted plant below

As for cleanliness, well there's dirt and dust on the floor like every other room plus all kinds of little bugs crawling around in there (like ants, spiders, and fungus gnats) thanks to the plants. Killed a wasp in there today

Thanks for looking!

Default Final Update

With the Phalaenopses approaching full bloom inside, and temperatures rising outside, spring is fully underway, and it is time for this thread to end.

This time next month, most of the plants will be outside with the sun, rain, and bugs. Thank you so much for joining me during this long, cold, and snowy winter. I'm thankful to have had flowers in bloom all the way through (although a few more in February would have been nice)!

Here are some photos to finish out the thread. Hope to see you in the 'Outdoor Gardening' forum for this summer's outdoor grow!

-CW

Thanks for sharing your beautiful space with all of us at OB! I really enjoyed your posts to this thread...something to aspire to...and yet just a blessing to see such a living space during a long, cold winter.
