Sorry, it's just a yellow noid that I picked up last year at, iirc, home depot. From what I understand, it's impossible to id a noid phal hybrid (there's like 40,000 of them), but here's a couple more pictures. Maybe someone else can name a phal hybrid with similar color for you.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. I only caught the orchid bug less than 2 yrs ago and this was my first reblooming. There was way more flowers and spikes than I expected or even had cause to hope for. My mom's in another north window in the same apartment didn't do quite as well, but I did use a lot of fertilizer last summer so maybe that had something to do with it.

Thanks. Luckily the kittens prefer to go after my mini african violets when they want to be naughty,but mostly left the phal blooms and leaves alone. I do have to watch them when I am watering my paph since they seem to like the thin leaves on it. My fault for leaving it in their favorite spot on a hot day (the tub).

The poles and shelves are actually re-purposed shower caddies that we weren't using anymore. I couldn't fit the bigger pot on my 3.5" ledge and didn't want to buy anything to hang them (not when I could spend the money on another orchid instead

) . My mom has the bottom halves (without the tension rods) with plants strapped to the outside of the railings in front of our 2nd story apartment.

They have so many flowers!!! How do you get them to do that? Do you give them hormones? Mine just get 4-5 flowers...

Nope, no growth hormone. just Grow More Orchid 20-10-20. I did fertilize them full strength every week (or half strength twice a week) last summer since they were growing so much (they've all put on 4-5 leaves since last year) and then only every few weeks when temperatures dropped and none during blooming season. My north window is hot high 90s to low 100s and get 1000-1500 fc for most of the day almost every day. Every plant produced spikes with multiple branches and some sent even up two spikes. Though I had to cut some spikes off a couple that I needed to focus on regrowing their root system (because oops not enough watering or too much, I'm still a newbie myself).

Of course, my clay pots built up so much salt that I skipped fertilizing them the last few months. That and my kittens kept trying to eat the sphagnum moss and stick their heads in to taste the water when I was soaking them and I worried about poisoning them since they were so tiny then. So, if I get less blooms next year, I'll know why.

What beautiful, healthy looking plants! The kitties look pretty happy too.
The bedroom windowsill is one window I can't use for orchids because my husband doesn't like to get up very early and the blinds remain closed. I hate having a window I can't put orchids in! Now our son has moved home for a while. 2 less windows. Damn!
