Holy cow!!! Great job!

And yes keep updating this thread as you fill that space up! I love seeing these threads and read how people take care of the chids and see what's in flower and how big everyone's plants are getting!

Hi Ordphien,

You are truly the angel of your phal. :-)

Can you share with us how did you nurture it back to health?

Lol... I meant to.
And then I flooded my house.
Been my main distraction since.

Well... I..
I'm not exactly sure to be honest lol.
I made a potting mix of half sphagnum half medium grade bark.
I soaked the whole plant in a water and rooting harmone mixture for a hour.
Bought that pot you see in the photo. And stuck the poor shriveled guy in there.

After that I just watered as normal.

I also sprayed the bottoms of the leaves daily, bit I'm not sure if that did anything.
Eventually it started growing and recovering.

Hi Ordphien,

Am sorry, I've got one more question : how did you "watered as normal" for your above mentioned Phals?

Am currently rescueing 2 Phals with rot roots, have repot them in unglaze clay pots with side holes with charcoal & bark mix, but am not sure how to water them correctly.

Appreciate your answer, thank you!

hoonming: generally, you want the roots to dry out between waterings - the outside of them should go back to being silvery/whitish for a day or so before they're thoroughly watered. This is usually about once a week, but depends on humidity/temperature/pot size etc. This is one reason clear pots are quite useful for novice orchid growers.
