Default I created a windowsill

Technically, it's a shelf in a window, but it's close enough to be called a large windowsill. I made the shelf myself (my company makes architectural elements from a mineral composite material), and the only thing I regret is not putting a heating wire inside it. The entire top surface is a large shallow tray 20 mm deep, so spills do not end up on the floor. It holds about 40 orchids and 8 non-orchids, plus a vanda and 4 Stanhopeas hanging from the window trim.

The last photo is my ICU section, with rootless rescues and new transplants, all in semi-hydro, on a small heat mat. Seems to work - most are growing new roots, or at least not dying.

Impressive set-up....neat and clean. I can see snow out on the street yet your Phalaenopsis happily blooms....post pictures of your Vanda when it flowers

Very nice. The mix of orchids and non-orchids gives it a real tropical feel.

Thank you! Yes, it's very cold outside, but these plants are making the winter bearable. I'm managing to keep the humidity at around 60%, which is pretty high for a Canadian winter.

The entire setup is only 3 months old - prior to this, I kept my much smaller orchid collection on a much smaller windowsill in the kitchen, and this shelf gave me a great excuse to buy more orchids! I have another, non-windowsill setup which I'll post in the Member Displays section.
