I recently (Friday) sent them an email regarding a cross I got from them in regards to a name. Picture says one thing, their listing says another and there is no such cross registered. Still haven't heard back.

So it's not just you, just BAD customer service.

I have made 2 purchases from them, and both times they were off-- I bought a very expensive cattleya, and they cut off 2 leaves, like they wanted it to fit into the box or something. And now, I had been looking for that plant for several years, and thought, __ well the last time wasn't so bad. It was horrible!!!

Today I figured that it was not worth it. I will take the replacement plant they put into my package. I do not like it, and would not have ever bought it. I lost some money because the plant they gave me was less money than the plant I bought. I just have had it up to there-- I will take the plant and care for it, and learn to love it.

On the other side, I had a great experience with a gal on ebay selling a kind of "rescue" No-ID paph that needed some care. Dealing with her (or maybe him, I don't know) made me feel like a person again, and not a chump.

Norman's plant labels have barcodes printed on them. A few of their plants use just a simple handwritten label however. And to prevent mixing up with labels, they can always print a barcode sticker and slap it on the pot. A Zebra printer that can do barcodes is not a huge investment for a nursery their size.

Old post but just wanted to say that there are some really great vendors in the US. I have never ordered anything from Norman's due to their reputation and I had a terrible experience with Seattle Orchids. I avoid Ebay. I am careful to research the vendors I do use and have had very good experiences. I hope you will have better luck!
