Phal level or slightly brighter light, humidity on the high side but with lots of air movement. It STILL rotted. Something is still lacking in my culture, but I don't know what.
Well, I just soaked it prior to re-potting.What I read on the AOS care sheet seemed much like Catt conditions. I'll research it again. But, water retentive mix kind of flies in the fact of not rotting, ya know?

It wasn't the roots rotting, but the leaves, and then that spreads to the bulbs. Promenea are known to be very prone to fungal issues.

Funny thing is that when I go back to read on culture (specifically for Prom xanthina since I had hybrids of that), I see everything from growing in baskets to a fine bark mix. Seems that they are rather forgiving of media type. Water retentive mix means stays moist while still draining rapidly between waterings. So not sphag for instance.

I didn't repot mine since it was happy in what the grower had put it in. It just didn't like me...

So, how did I do? Enough weird and wonderful,?
I think you have gotten some great new orchids! Good luck and have fun with all of them!
