I didn't get a choice... Only some of them specify I think. The schoenorchis said it was mounted but some of the others were a surprise. I ordered a sophronitis, neofinetia, haraella, two restrepias and the schoenorchis and only the soph and neo were potted... Might be worth mailing them with ones you want and seeing if they have a choice?
I don't usually like mounts either but as these were minis and for a live planted reptile tank it suited me at the time! |
Nice to see there's another reptile keeper on the board. I keep mainly terrestrial pit vipers and monitor lizards, so not much chance to do elaborate planted set-ups with those, but I have some rear-fanged arboreals in planted viv's.
Kindest regards, Alex |
Nice! Love my reptiles! I used to keep some small monitors, Ackies... They were super! Would love some arboreal monitors, but all the ones I like need a massive viv and a load of cash!
I keep mainly small arboreal geckos at the moment, a very much reduced collection sadly! I don't trust myself with DWA stuff though! You should put some pics up in the other sections! Would love to see :-) |

With DWA I think nerves are a good thing as they help to keep complacency at bay. I would never have trusted myself with venomous years ago, but I had a very good mentor. My first species was a Crotalus basiliscus, probably the single most docile snake in the world. Being able to work with such a large, powerful, not to mention potentially lethal species, that was so completely relaxed and non-aggressive was a big confidence booster. That being said, I still fall victim to nerves myself, my last herping trip to Australia I got roped into helping with the maintenance of an acquaintances collection, and I can assure you that trying to hook an Eastern Brown is not an experience for the faint-hearted. Would love to post pictures, but I'm afraid I don't have a camera. I gave up on photography years ago, the only thing I ever learned about cameras is that an idiot with a Nikon is still an idiot at heart. Apologies to everyone else for taking the thread off- topic, I do love to talk reptiles though. Kindest regards, Alex |
