What a nice order!! I wish we had cyber monday deals over in Europe... I have an order at my favorite Dutch grower planned out, but it will have to wait until January. I forgot to place my order this week, so if I do it now they won't ship until the 16th. I leave the 19th... Usually it's 1-2 day shipping, but I don't want to take any chances.

I ordered 3 dendros on black friday. Well packed plants arrived in timely manner.Nicely mounted but plants are too small. In my previous order(last year) I had the same problem(small plants) with them but I thought that was just an anomaly.

Bought Dend. parishii which has single pseudobulb 2 inch long, Dend. carronii 3-4 small almost dry bulbs with single small marble size bulb.

I also bought Dend. chrysotoxum (heavy mount) which seems OK in size but I do not think it will bloom.

Plants bought last year have not bloomed yet and all the plants I bought so far, were blooming/near blooming size.

Plants bought in blooming/near blooming size from other vendors bloomed.

So my experience with them has been a mixed bag.

If you ever get to meet Andy or his brother Harry, they are really good, down to earth people. When you buy a plant from them, you get a sense that they are selling you their own plant. And then they follow up with you after a month or so, to find how their plant was doing in your care. Dr Glenn Lehr of New World Orchids is like that too. I would consider buying plants from them first.

I would love to see pictures of plants you guys got.
I am not trying to be picky . Nor intend any vendor bashing.
I am just trying to figure out how long it would take for mine to bloom if I provide right conditions because to me, mine are healthy but too small to bloom for at least couple of years.
I was really hoping parishii will be nice size.
I spent total $63.

Biggest psedobulb on any plant is 2 inch.
In first picture-Small plant is Dendrobium carronii (miniature) with only 1 decent size bulb (small marble, green),one very small(small pea size, green) one and a few dry bulbs. 2nd plant is parishii in this picture (1 p bulb 2 inch...but quite healthy).
Middle pic shows all 3.
Last pic shows big guy- Dendrobium chrysotoxum, multiple bulbs( biggest one 2 inch long). It is also quite healthy, plump.

Please give your opinions.
Thanks.

I mostly got pleuros, but I also got 1 Dendrobium sp. I'm usually pretty happy with sizes from Andy's orchids, as they tend to either come in bloom or will bloom soon. Here is a link to my plants.

Default Here are mine

Here are the two that I got. The tufted one is a Dracula with many new sprouts and firmly rooted. The other is an Oncidium. It has numerous PB's and seems to be progressing nicely.

Thank you Tindomul. A winter sale seemed to be the time of year to get a Dracula. We can adapt to each other before Maryland heat sets in.

HI all--

Great pix of what you got. I'll try to post mine once I get caught up from being gone this weekend for my job....

Plumania, I also ordered a Den. parishi and it's about the same size and mostly leafless since it's a deciduous species....BTW, I won a Den. loddigesii at an orchid club Christmas dinner over the weekend that's from Ecuagenera and it's about the same size as the one I rec'd from Andy's--both nice plants (and you can never have too many of them, right??)...

Catherine
