Bergstrom Orchids
This guy is a small operator in Hawaii (Big Island) near Hilo. I have been to his greenhouse. He is not to be trusted! Plain and simple. His stuff is mis-labeled (I bought a Oncidium 'Sharry Baby' in spike that turned out to be a yellow NOID Oncidium.) I have very little remaining stock from my Hawaii purchase due to throwing away most of it. He told me that he would label anything I wanted him to label. Yep. I get it!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

He is running a poor business if he thinks he can sell NOIDs as Named and send you an infested plant!
Aren't importers suppose to dip their plants before they send them beyond their borders to prevent entomological invasion which can prove to be devastating to the environment?
An example being the Asian long horned beetle which was not indigenous to the USA is now causing widespread decimation of our maple trees, horse-chestnut, poplar, willow, and elm. Although it was in the wooden packing material of plumbing supplies from China and not brought in by plant importation.

Problem is, USDA gave him a permit to ship, so he can legally ship his stuff "inspected". I didn't have a problem with bugs (that I know of,) I had a problem with dead roots, underpotted plants, mislabelled plants, plants up and dying, etc.

You just ran down the list That's the stuff I was talking about. Besides that, there is some feeling amongst our group he was "drunk" all the time he was talking with us.
