Woodstream Orchids & Plantio la Orquidea Female
Question Woodstream Orchids & Plantio la Orquidea

Anyone have any experience with Woodstream Orchids? I'm interested in some of their Epidendrum but have never ordered from them.

Also, how about Plantio la Orquidea? Any good? They have some awesome sounding schomburgkias I'm drooling over.

Thanks guys!

Woodstream is awesome. I ordered some really cute mini phrags from them. Both arrived in great shape and have grown well and bloomed. They have some really interesting species Paphs too.

Lynne and Bill (Woodstream) used to live around here, but moved to MD a few years ago when Bills job (with the USDA, I think) changed locations.

Great folks, great plants.

the Goldners (Lynne and Bill) have changed their focus. while they continue to offer a broad spectrum of orchid plants, their attention now is clearly toward Paphs and Phrags. a quality vendor.

I had a good experience with Woodstream. I bought 2 Epi flasks and they gave me a freebie.

The Plastic Doll did GREAT!! I got almost 100% from the flask. The freebie did GREAT. You practically can't kill dixorum.

The ilense unfortunately was too small in the flask and had a fungus attack and I lost the whole one.

All in all though I was pleased because they provided a freebie, so I didn't complain or anything. Plus it was my first Epi flask experience so I count 75% failure due to my inexperience.

Default Plantio Orchidea

I bought some plants from Plantio Orchidea at Redlands a few weeks ago. Their prices are good and I am very happy with my plants. I would definitely buy from them again. They have a neat selection. I got a really large C. guttata var leopoldii for $55. Very good value and the flower on this is gorgeous. I also got a stanhopea cross(good sized adult plant) for $12 as well as some varieties of C. intermedia for under $10. If I remember correctly they did have nice size schroms also. It is kind of a blur because I was in an orchid purchasing frenzy.

Don't know about their shipping practices though. If I go back to Redlands next year I would check them out first.

I have bought a few plants from woodstreams at a show. They were beautiful plants with amazing root systems and I am expecting to buy from them again soon.
