Thumbs up Another Thumbs Up for Jewell Orchids

I just won an auction on ebay for Lc Marcello Miranda x Lc Gaskell-pulima ‘Azure Star’ HCC/AOS and it came in the mail on Thursday.

Not only was the orchid exactly as described, but they also put a little flyer with their website address listed attached to the wrapper.

I didn't think too much of it until I was bored last night and playing around on the internet. I decided to take a look at their website. O...My...Goodness.....can you say goodbye to the piggy bank?

There was so much good stuff there, that I had to restrain myself. I did allow myself to buy 2 chids since they are having an Oct special $5 shipping.

Lc Mini Purple coerulea ('Blue Hawaii' AM/AOS x 'Blue Sky') is a very nice sibling cross between two excellent blue clones of this well known hybrid.

Odontocidium Blackwood 'Sweet One' (Onc Wildwood x Odcdm Black Beauty) is an easy-growing hybrid that will have branching spikes of gorgeous flowers.

I can't wait for them to arrive.

I hate to be the damper on this convo but PLEASE be careful when purchasing plants from this vendor. Not only did I recieve a plant from them with suspicious markings but it tested positive for two viruses. The seller never refunded my money, but I did file a complaint with ebay.

Could you be more specific as to the "markings?" Do you test all of your orchid purchases? Markings on a bloom or on the plant?

Where do you have yours tested?

Thumbs up

Another good customer service story.

I was repotting my original order and discovered that the tag didn't match the ad (from this thread original purchase). It said Lc. Mini Purple 'Tamami' AM/AOS.

I was confused so I googled the name and saw the picture was the fuchsia form. I e-mailed Jewell and after a few days, they responded with the below.

I am sending you a replacement plant for the LC Mini Purple coerulea - it is one of the last plants we have of this cross. Apparently I must have just picked up the wrong one when I sent your order - should have had my glasses on I guess. I apologize for the error and glad that you saw the mistake. Please feel free to keep the Tamami - it is a very nice plant and flowers several times a year. My daughter won the award on it years ago.

Again, we apologize and hope you enjoy your plants.

Dave

Super duper customer service and I get to keep the extra chid!
