Default A question about Ecuagenera

Well, they have pretty much every orchid I've been drooling over, and all appear to be available for purchase on their website. My question is, do I have to pay for a CITES certificate to import the plants? Also, do they ship directly to you, or do you need to pick up the plants at a show?

Their plants seem to have reasonable prices on their website, and when you add the shipping charges in the cart, the price doesn't seem all that bad. I want to know as much as I can before I buy from them (The last thing I want is to find out that I have to pay 100 dollars for an orchid that was supposed to be only 20 dollars!)

If you order from their website, you will need to pay for the cites & phytosanitary certificates, and need an import permit. email cites@ecuagenera.com for information on the certificates.
they frequently do shows around the world, so you might be able to ask them to bring specific plants to the show, and let them handle the import. Their next 2 shows in the US are the San Francisco orchid show (Sep. 12-13) and the Miami Aroid show (Sep. 20-21 - not sure they'll bring orchids to this one, but it couldn't hurt to ask).
Also, if I remember correctly, Hawk Hill orchids imports plants from Ecuagenera, so you might want to try contacting them.

Ecuagenera will bring the orchids for you to the show and you can pick them up or they can mail them to you from the show if you cant make it to the show. The website gives you the deadlines to order orchids by so you should check that out. Im ordering from them now and they are very dilligent and friendly. Goodluck

Cha-Ching! I guess the prices add up fast. So much for ordering online.
