Cool I Have a Quandry OFE

Mornin Everyone,
I placed an order with OFE in April, it was my first order with them. The order came in a timely manner but part of it was missing.

I emailed them asking about the package of double pot holders and got a prompt but "oh well" type of answer. I emailed them right back...I hate being treated like I have no control over a situation so sit back and shut up!!

Got a more polite email back explaining that the manufacturer was having some difficulties and they would get them to me that next week.

I didn't hear from them again until I once more emailed and was basically told the same thing.

It's now July 1st. I emailed OFE again and was told they would be getting them next Tuesday. Haven't I heard this story before?

I understand sometimes problems arise with suppliers.

OFE has been very prompt in answering every inquiry but have not and did not notify me that my order was incomplete or follow up at all unless I emailed them first.

If I hadn't needed the supplies in April, I wouldn't have ordered them in April!

I resent being treated like my needs don't matter. I resent being made to wait without notification except when I do the contacting first.

Also, I no longer believe when they say it'll be here next week.........what and then next week again?

I need some input here. Should I just wait it out? Cancel the order and order somewhere else?

Hey, great customer service! You gotta hand it to them.

My personal inclination would be to cancel the order, find the item elsewhere, and not again do business with them. There are enough dealers out there that a bad experience can be quickly left behind.

April is a very very long time ago! They should have at least given you some sort of time frame. If it's things that you can easily find elsewhere, I would just cancel the order. You should have done it a long time ago. If they can't give good customer service, there is no reason for you to be giving them your money.

I knew someone was gonna ask this! I've wondered myself what it stands for.

The name is OFE International and they have a pretty good reputation...up til now.

To answer your question, I would cancel the order and write them a letter explaining to them why it is that you will not be shopping there again.

I had a similar situation with them, but they rectified it immediately. Now I'm leery of going there, but it's so much cheaper and convenient than anywhere else. SIGH.

I have never had luck with them having everything they say they do. I don't order from them anymore myself, although if somebody near me is ordering I will sometimes do a joint order. But only if I'm not the one who takes point on handling the inevitable back orders and other hassle.

The prices are good, I'll give them that.

Wow I almost ordered from them one time, but found my items cheaper else where! I would cancel the order and tell them where to put their double pot holders and place an order with a company who you know will deliver them!

Thank you very much for your input. I realize all vendors have problems once in a while and I didn't want to Over react.

I really, really needed those pot holders. It's a sweltering summer here and the back of the greenhouse gets too hot.

I had intended to hang many of my catts in the tree beside the GH during the heat wave...but thanks to OFE, that hasn't happened.

They won't get my business again.
