Angry Does anyone know how i can get ahold of a live person at Costa Farms? im not happy..

Went to lows they have some beutifull orchids. saw one i liked.. looked healthy.. had lots of leafs and an awesom flower spike.. its a oncidium with a flower that i have not seen before.. big bulb ..the smaller thinner ones i atributed them to being younger parts of the plant.. even tho the main one was big and bulbous..
and those were tall and thin..i paid big bucks for this plant too more than i have ever paid.
i get it home.. and like i do all my chids.. i take it out of the nasty spag.. i do this.. and get one hell of a nasty suprise.. its 2 seperate plants.. not only that.. the one with the flower.. has no roots at all! just a stem where whatever backwater idiotic stupid greenhouse worker cut it from the main plant because they were lazy and because that would not look good with just the single bulb.they took a bunch of baby type oncidiums no flower spikes at all.. and stuck it with.. then packed it soo tight just to hold it together and to make it look like a single plant.. and even the baby pieces have no roots either!!! i will not bring this to lowes as lowes will not do anything about it but refund.and most likely not mention anything to costa. I dont want a refund.. i want the plant i was buying... so im gona get ahold of costa if i can i hope to at least get the plant that i had bought.. it was also the only one at lowes.. and try to get not only this problem fixed.. but make sure they know someone is cutting corners big time..and sending out a product that should not be sent out till it is actually growing and has roots..

That is how Costa operates they are a wholesale nursery even if you got a hold of a person they would not do anything about it .
I had several Dends. given to me a friend got them from the discount table what you described is exactly what they did hacked up a big blooming plant and stuck it in a pot with other pieces .
I have talked to the people at Lowe's did not do any good I think they have a contract with Costa . Costa does this sort of thing all the time they are well aware of the practice .
Your best bet is to take a picture of the blooms post them on the forum, get the name of the cross and look for another one from an on line source .
I would take it back that is about the only recourse there is .. When I see the Costa name that is the end of a sale to me .... Hey! Beelady I just noticed u are in Mo. 2 .. Gin

I know your pain . You want the plant you bought. But I seriously doubt that you will get anywhere even if you get through to Costa. A large grower supplying Lowes don't much care about one little plant. I would take it back and get the refund. Especially since you paid big bucks for it. If it has a name you should be able to find another or take a picture and post it, someone here on OB might be able to identify it for you. My feeling is if you paid good money you should have a good healthy plant. Get the refund & save it for another better chid.

You should be able to go back to Lowes and get your money back. I sure would let them know who they are buying their orchids from and how they operate.

I agree, go get a refund! Big growers like that are impossible to talk to. It's already impossible enough to get email replys back from them, let alone speak to someone! It's a shame, you had a really nice looking one. But as mentioned, you can get another elsewhere, from someone who cares about the plants they grow. At least you would be sure to start with a happy healthy plant.
