I buy on Ebay and have never really been burned. The worst that has happened was I was sent seedlings as blooming sized. I do check out feedback no matter how much I want what is being offered. I also have no scruples in contacting the seller and make them spell out in an email exactly what I should expect and I keep all correspondence with the seller. I also ask for an extra picture.
And with that...I sell a few plants on Ebay. Extras and lost tag stuff. I'm honest and ship exactly what I've described.

I think if I was shipped the plant that was photographed I'd be mad enough to make a road trip.

The odd thing is that this vendor has no negative feedback...until now, of course

I'm sure Eric is not trying to pull a "fast one", he was really looking forward to getting his plant...he's very newly addicted

I hope things get worked out favorably...but even so, this is one vendor who has irreparable damage to his/her business

I purchased a phal from this vendor ONCE! I tried my best to save it but it was doomed from day one. Needless to say I never went back and never will.

Wow. Their response absolutely stuns me. I've never seen something so blatantly dishonest on eBay. I'm really at a loss for words.

I firmly believe he was duped. I believe he ha every right to go after her/him. I hope that the "powers that be" realize exactly went on.

I would file an immediate dispute with paypal.

To me, being sent a seedling for a blooming-sized plant is being duped. There's a big difference between the two!

I can't imagine why anyone would post on here about a problem unless the problem was real, and the seller was full of, uh, nonsense. If I received a plant from ANY source, eBay, regular internet vendor, local seller, in this condition I would raise utter hades with them.

Sometimes filing a claim doesn't result in anything more then a he said/she said kind of a situation and ends up making the situation kind of worse. I guess I find rather then trying to argue with the person who did wrong to just give the negative feedback and cut my losses and never buy from that person again.

Ya know if you paid by credit card, if PayPal doesn't make it right, dispute the charge with your credit card company. No sense paying $30 for a dead plant. Does the orchid's tag have the sellers company name on it?

I knew I had seen this name before. I purchased a Cattleya. Blc. Keowee 'Newberry' from this seller and the plant didn't come in the best condition either. Roots were gone and half of it rotted this was back in July of last year. It's making a comeback now with 2 new growths but it's far away from being fine. I never bought from them again.
