Thumbs up Carter & Holmes

I received a flyier awhile back free shipping on orders of 10 plants or more including dug ups btw. they are as big as the potted ones only bare root which I like , also a free plant for every 5 ordered . Not a blemish on any of them . I have bought quite a bit from them and never had a problem .. Gin

I've ordered a good number of plants from this vendor, and also visited their greenhouses. They are good folks, with healthy plants.

Default "Free shipping" misled me

I looked at their website and found some good deals on bare-roots, and opened a shopping cart seeing their bonus (1 for 5) offer; when I went to checkout the free shipping knocked off $17 off my bill and though it said "free shipping on orders of 10 plants" I thought the rebate was a special deal for that time, it closed the deal for me - I was thrilled!
Except when the plants were delivered they reinstated the $17 - I immediately emailed with their own invoice showing the deducted $17 and haven't heard back!
I must admit the plants are healthy and good looking - but I don't think I would have purchased if I had to spend $17 for shipping.
The most I have spent on shipping much larger shipments is $8.
So I'm feeling a bit miffed.

Maybe they haven't gotten to your email yet???? How long has it been? I've never bought from them, but I've heard good things. Keep us posted, will you?
I've spent $16 for shipping before....but they were special orchids and I knew it would be in perfect condition, so went for it. $17 is very steep, normally, I think.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how long it usually takes them to get your order out? I placed an order last night and the confirmation email said it could take 2 to 3 weeks depending on how busy they are. I'm not in a big hurry or anything, I just would like to prepare myself for the wait if it's going to be 3 weeks. Thanks so much!

That seems like a long time even for a big nursery. I have not ordered from them yet but have ordered several times from Hausermans and they get them out within a couple of days.

Lisa, thanks for the reply! I think I jumped and asked my question too soon because when I came home from work yesterday I had a shipment notification from Fed Ex in my e-mail. So I placed my order Sunday night and it was already shipped Monday. It says it will get here on Thursday. They must say it may take a couple weeks just to cover themselves. Now I can't wait for Thursday to get here!

I'd be surprised if they don't respond. I have ordered from them a few times ad have always been satisfied!
