Hi. Anyone have a grower that they really think has great phal species?

I have a few and want to expand but most growers seem to have hybrids

Not news to anyone, but Peter Lin of Big Leaf Orchids has the best phals! He has many great hybrids but I've also gotten a few species from him that were top quality.

In addition to his website, his "price sheet" lists even more species that you can email him to buy. Also check the ebay store.

I swear he's not paying me for this, but he did gift me a phal pulchra in spike when I drove 3 hours out of Austin to pick up an order

Disclaimer, I know some growers but never ordered from the US so take that with a grain of salt.

- Big Leaf Orchids as stated by vegetalmatter

- Louisiana Orchid Collection has some nice uncommon species (Phalaenopsis – Louisiana Orchid Connection)

- Krull Smith isn't cheap but has a VERY good rep over here, some people import their Phal and sell them for hundreds € (Krull Smith - Phalaenopsis)

- Rob at Sapphire Dragon Orchids (http://www.sapphiredragonorchids.com/SDOhome.htm) specialises in coerulea versions

- You might be able to get recommendations is you ask the International Phalaenopsis Alliance (Home About Us Membership Journa)

In regards to Peter Lin / Big leaf Orchids don't forget he also sells via ebay.

http://stores.ebay.com/bigleaforchids

Often times you'll find plants listed there that are not listed on the Big Leaf Orchids website. Always good to check out.
