I received a plant from him and it's in great shape.

Size was smaller than what was advertised (3" pot on the website, no photo of plant for sale.). I assumed it was a nicely sized seedling but I received a small seedling in a 2.5" pot. It is, however, well established in the pot.

I don't have much experience buying from small growers but I am a little disappointed...

Did you reach out and discuss this with the seller?

I sent him 2 messages inquiring about the availability of a plant and heard nothing back. There's some potentially interesting stuff on the site, but if he's not answering emails why should I bother?

No, I haven't. I am disappointed but wanted to see if other people thought this was "expected" or if I'm just being a jerk about it.

Did you check your spam? All my emails from Rogue orchids were sent there.

I would have sent an email and let them know you were disappointed...you purchase based on pot size and that seems like a misrepresentation

I tend to check the junk/spam folder since Hotmail is so dang quick to put useful emails in there. I've been keeping an eye out and haven't seen anything yet.

review- I ordered three plants.
-bulb bufordiense 'king cobra' x self
-Epi pseudopidendrum 'rogue orchids' x Epi melanoporphyreum 'rogues purple delight'
- Catt dowina v Rosita 'rogue orchids' x self

i also received a free bulbo (i did not take a pic of the tag and it is POURING)

everything was in very good shape, incredibly well packed and exactly as described when i ordered. two of the plants were 2"ers and one was totally reasonable for the pot, the other was ready to be up-potted and could have easily been sold as a 3-4" plant.

free stuff is always super cool

i recommend this vendor based on my experience

a very healthy seedling. it was a 2" and the roots were well spread to the edge of the 2" pot

Regarding the delay in communications, these are still covid-19 times, so I try to be mindful and patient if a vendor is taking extra time to contact me back. A lot of the places I order from are (very) small businesses, so they might be a bit overwhelmed these days.

I believe I had ordered a 3" and a 4" pot/plant. Here's a pic of both of them:

The 3" plant is definitely dwarfed by the larger plant when compared side-by-side. However, price-wise, I have paid a lot more for similarly-sized plants (easily double the price), so I think they are very fairly priced.
